Microban ® Anti-microbial, anti-bacterial protection is placed “inside” the polyester fiber media of the pool cartridge material to inhibit the growth of bacteria and other living micro-organisms that can cause stains, odors and degradation of the filter surface.
When purchasing a filter, check to see if “Microban®” is available in your filter cartridge size and if so, get it. Your water will be filtered better and those tiny microbes that are not seen by the human eye are trapped and not allowed back into your pool water.
Continuous Anti-microbial, anti-bacterial cleaning action of Microban® makes filter cartridges easier to clean and keeps them fresher between cleanings. See the variety of cleaning items and chemical cleaners for methods to keep your filter cartridges properly maintained. A back-up cartridge is highly recommended as with any other type of cartridge. Remember, even with Microban, allowing the cartridge to dry thoroughly allows ALL organisms and bacteria to die because moisture is not present to breed more bacteria, which can still be present with a wet cartridge even though it has been cleaned.
